Maze Grill- The BEST Sunday Roast

Many times I have been to Sunday roasts and I chew for hours that piece of horrible, dry meat (no, doesn't matter how much gravy you pour on top). Until last week- I came across possibly THE BEST Sunday roast in UK (possibly the world). Sounds good? Read on....

Overall Rating:
This is a must if you are a fan of Sunday Roast, or if you are looking for some good quality traditional English brunch.

Service:
Very friendly staff who kindly recommended mocktails, dishes and provided very attentive service throughout your meal.

Food:
36 days dried rib eye, home made gravy, bone marrow, AND unlimited sides! The beef was so tender and juicy, very easy to cut and packed with fresh flavours with minimal seasoning! I am not normally a fan of horse raddish but the chef managed to make it into a mayo texture and somehow got rid of the tangy taste. The yorkshire pudding was almost the size of my head and was freshly baked to order.

The starters were also to die for (priced separately). Ingredients were so fresh, and ideas were so creative- it cannot possibly go wrong.

Seafood and sushi menu also available.

Seating:
The restaurant splits into two floors. We were allocated a seat in a quiet corner that were separated from the rest of the tables (with a wall in between). The sofas were very comfortable. Private room hire also available! (For more details please contact the restaurant)

Value:
All this for £25 a head! (plus service charge) This is definitely one of the best deals I have ever come across. I promise you will walk out feeling stuffed with more than just food- the satisfaction!
Sunday Roast menu are available Sundays only.

Chef recommends Medium Rare!
Unlimited Sides including
1) Cauliflower Cheese
2) Honey roasted vegetables
3) Honey Glazed baby carrots
4) Sweet potato and carrot mash
5) Wagyu fat roast potatoes (very crunchy and delicious!)

Complimentary Potato sour dough- A Ramsay favourite.
Tuna devilled egg £4
This was definitely one of my absolute favourite. Boil eggs with yolk scooped out and stuffed with fresh marinated tuna sashimi- DEVINE! The combination was faultless!

Secreto 07 £ 10
EXCLUSIVE TO MAZE GRILL. Another must try. The beef was so fresh that you can eat it like ham! Each piece are very thinly sliced and marinated to perfection. A definite MUST.
Frozen Lime Yogurt, toasted meringue £6
For those who wants something light and refreshing- this is definitely the one to go for. Slightly sweetened meringue partnered with tangy frozen yogurt. Love is found.

Vanilla set custard and rhubarb £ £6
Creme Brûlée with a twist. Generous portion! Enough for two to share, especially after a massive roast!

SUSHISAMBA- at last.

Located on the 39th floor of the famous Heron Tower, Sushisamba offers more than delicious food. Whether you are a  true diner, a tourist, or a party animal- you will find something that suits your taste in this place. After a long wait of 3 months, I finally managed to book a table at peak time.

Before I moved on, you got it. The equally famous and wonderful Duck and Waffle is also located within the Heron Tower. Click here to read my review

Overall Rating:
Beautiful view, I recommend going when it's dark- you get to appreciate London's night view more.
Sushisamba serves a creative fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. The presentation of the food is top notch.
RESERVATIONS ONLY- and trust me, it is so hard to reserve a table. This might be because of the limited spaces in the restaurant (see below). If it is for a special occasion, make sure you book way in advance.

Staff:
Very friendly staff. We were originally sat in the middle but the staff kindly let us when we asked if we could sit next to the window. Staff gave honest recommendations and ensured we didn't over order. When told no alcohol, they also kindly offered a mocktail tailored to your taste- whatever you don't like, they don't put in. Mocktails are also half the price of the alcoholic ones!
Strawberry breeze (not on menu) £ 6.50

Food:
Much better than I expected and very high standard. My favourite was the INKARI (see below). The presentation was very impressive but did not neglect the taste. I have definitely had better sushi (fresher fish) elsewhere in London but Sushisamba offers a very creative experience that you won't find elsewhere.

Environment:
As you walk down the stairs you would see the Gherkin on your right. There is an outdoor bar with a beautifully decorated tree. So by all means go outside and take photos! At the end of the day you are paying for the view too!

Value:
Expect to spend about £70 per head (including service charge). The prices are slightly on the high end but to me the whole experience was definitely worth it.

A quick view of the restaurant.

SCALLOP

mandarin leche de tigre, pickled mandarin, shiso £ 13.00

Tangy taste of mandarin, thickly sliced scallop pieces- the perfect starter to prep you up for the mains!
Yellowtail Crsipy Taquitos £  13.00
EDITOR'S FAVOURITE: Similar to Tacos, this fried dumpling is stuffed with chopped yellowtail and avocado, mixed in with a miso paste. A very refreshing and good looking plate. Mix the bubbled miso sauce up and pour over the taquito before eating! I recommend trying the lobster option as well.

PLANTAIN CHIPS aji amarillo £ 6.00
INKARRI £ 68.00

Scallops, Masago (crab roes), avocado, cucumber, crab,
  black truffle, oscietra caviar, gold
EDITOR'S FAVOURITE: A truly luxurious plate of maki roll! You don't need soy sauce for this. Every single ingredient is packed with natural flavours- sprinkle some caviar on top and you have a posh rice sandwich! This plate would taste pretty standard without the rich texture of truffle or the salty kick of caviar. The tiny sprinkles of gold doesn't taste of anything. You are pretty much paying for these three ingredients- but the combination was immaculate. Presentation is highly rated too!!!

SAMBA LONDON

crab, tuna, salmon, white fish, prawn, avocado, tempura crunch, rice cracker, Japanese pickles, wasabi mayo, aji panca, soy reduction £ 16.00
PASSION FRUIT CAKE
green tea and white chocolate ganache, raspberry sorbet, coconut tuile, fresh raspberries, passion fruit £ 10.00

EDITOR'S FAVOURITE: Non-stop clapping for this super yummy dessert! This has everything- presentation, colour, taste and texture! raspberry and green tea white chocolate is possibly one of the best combinations! the sponge cake was light and not too heavy and goes perfectly with the sorbet. TRUELY AMAZING!
